Waterproof Zipper

Waterproof Zipper

At Ece Fermuar, we began the production of "waterproof" zippers—which feature water-repellent properties—in 2008.

Features of Waterproof Zippers

Developed as an alternative to standard zippers that allow water to penetrate, our waterproof zippers are particularly preferred for outerwear. Manufactured using specialized materials, these zippers prevent water from entering through the slider, tape, or teeth. Thanks to the use of specific components, every part is coated to block the passage of liquids.

These high-quality zippers incorporate special materials into the tape section. By preventing liquid from reaching the interior, they add significant value to the items on which they are used. Due to their diverse options and technical specifications, these waterproof zippers are suitable for a wide range of applications. Custom production is also available upon request.

Waterproof zippers are designed with water-repellent properties. Every element—including the slider, pull tab, and all other components—is manufactured to ensure a fully waterproof structure. Following production, the zippers undergo rigorous chemical and physical testing. Our production process is transparent, and we provide customers with detailed information regarding the product and its proper application (sewing/attachment) based on its intended use.

While all physical and chemical tests are conducted in-house at Ece Fermuar, our waterproof products have also successfully passed quality testing at independent, third-party laboratories.

Applications for Waterproof Zippers

Waterproof zippers are suitable for items frequently used during the winter months, such as jackets, raincoats, overcoats, boots, shoes, sailing gear, tarpaulins, and tents.

Since winter apparel is more likely to come into contact with water, it is essential that the zippers used are designed to withstand such conditions. Waterproof zippers are also incorporated into products intended for year-round use.

Water-repellent (waterproof) zippers are most commonly produced in molded-plastic (bone) and nylon coil varieties.
